With over 15 years of professional experience and a lifetime of study and exploration, Melinda Rodriguez uplifts, rejuvenates, restores and inspires people towards transformation and a pursuit of their own personal power, healing and purpose.  She is renowned for creating a genuine connection with Spirit and a deep awareness of the wisdom that lies within us all. Her unwavering integrity and amazing gifts of listening sincerely, leading from the heart and inspiring the best in others has earned Melinda deep admiration and appreciation from her clients, students, and audiences everywhere.

Honoring her Cherokee lineage and deep connection to Native American spirituality, Melinda draws upon her expertise in a medley of diverse Shamanic traditions acquired through apprenticeships and study with an array of teachers, and facilitates this profound, eclectic wisdom in her healing and teaching practice. Melinda is Certified as a Spiritual Counselor through the American Board of Hypnotherapy and trained with Dr. Doreen Virtue. She is an integrative healing practitioner and holds certification as a Reiki Master Teacher.

Melinda is also a passionate percussionist utilizing ceremonial and recreational drumming as a transformational tool that heals and awakens ones inner power. Introduced to drumming through her shamanic training, Melinda soon realized the profound and positive transformation that drumming inherently creates. This led her to study various cultural methods of making music through rhythm and become a Professional Drum Circle Facilitator with training by Arthur Hull and many other extraordinary teachers of the drum.

Melinda has been teaching and presenting in the field of spiritual and personal development for over ten years. During that time she was invited to share her talents and wisdom with corporations as team building and motivational programs involving drumming. Since 2005 she has presented over 250 programs to globally recognized companies such as Microsoft, Disney, Southwest Airlines, Stanford University, the American Heart Association and St. Josephs, just to name a few. The profound transformation she has facilitated and witnessed within these organizations has been monumental, both on an individual level as well as the whole of each group. As part of her life's work, Melinda travels extensively with the Drum Café, an international corporate team building sensation that brings the ancient transformational tool of drumming to modern audiences everywhere. 

Drawing upon her own challenging life journey and overcoming numerous obstacles including drugs, physical abuse and recently the loss of her unborn child, Melinda forged a pathway to empowerment which led her to enhanced consciousness, shamanic awareness, purpose and passion for life. As with all shamans, Melinda has gone through her own initiation of personal crises, and has faced the fears and demons of her unconscious. She has emerged with an enhanced desire to help heal other people's wounds and guide them through their pain.

After pursuing a degree in traditional psychology, Melinda soon recognized that most conventional therapy methods were not getting to the root of a person’s issues nor facilitating empowerment and self love.  From her own spiritual development and understanding that loving the self is far more effective than playing victim to supposed outside forces, Melinda elected to study spirituality, metaphysics, Shamanism, energy healing, and evolved methods of psychology and counseling. This decision lead Melinda to her life’s work which then begin to transform her painful past into passion and purpose.

Melinda lives in Southern California with her high school sweetheart Luis, her daughter Britany, two beautiful Siberian Huskies and three adorable cats.  When she takes a break from teaching, healing, mentoring individuals and leading motivational drumming events across the country, Melinda greatly enjoys gardening, hiking, cooking, and joyful time with friends and family.
